Wedding and portrait photographers, Blue Square Images, are based in Kent. We are wedding and portrait photographers that cover all of the South East, including Kent, Sussex, Surrey, London and the Home Counties.

Hi, my name is Paul Birkett and I founded Blue Square Images.

I have always worked in the creative media, either as a professional photographer, graphic designer or a film visual effects artist.

Having begun my career as a professional wedding photographer, I gradually moved in to Sport and Event photography. After spending time photographing motor sport, working as a Formula One photographer and following the Grand Prix around the world, I moved into television graphics.

From Sports Photographer to Formula One photographer to Visual FX artist and back to Wedding & Portrait photographer

From Formula One, I changed careers to become an award winning visual effects artist in the feature film industry. I have worked on a number of feature films, including TROY, HARRY POTTER, KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, and CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, to name but a few.

Most notably, was being part of the OSCAR and BAFTA Award winning team that created the visual effects for THE GOLDEN COMPASS. I was also part of the EMMY Award winning team that produced the visual effects for the BBC series ROME.

Nevertheless, I have always had a passion for photography and longed to return to my beginnings, as a wedding photographer. Whilst I have enjoyed my previous careers, and all of them have involved the need for creative flair, I believe that I was never given the chance to express enough of my creative style which as a wedding photographer the modern and contemporary style of wedding photography allows.

I am now following my passion for photography and my heart as a modern and contemporary wedding photographer and portrait photographers, using my own style to capture those important moments in peoples lives.
