Gemma and John’s day began with their ceremony at St Mary’s Church, Frittenden, Kent and then moved onto The Old Rectory in Maidstone for their reception. Great effort was made with the colour coordination, as you will see, even the sheep, yes I said sheep, had colour coordinated ribbons to match the bridesmaids dresses. Just to let you know that the sheep were part of the church and were in the church grounds!

• The type of wedding venue that you are looking for. Small and intimate restaurant or grand castle or stately home?
• Will your wedding be the only event at the venue on the day?
• How many guest will you be having? As this will have a major influence on the size of the wedding venue that you can have. No good having a guest list of 150, when the venue can only seat 40 guests.
• If you are thinking of having the wedding ceremony outside, in a gazebo for example, does the wedding venue have a room large enough to hold all the guest should you have to move inside tdue to bad weather?
• Is the wedding venue easy to find?
• Is there enough parking?
• Does the venue have accommodation for you and your guests? If so, does it offer a discount?
• Should you have any guests with disabilities and mobility problems, is the wedding venue suitable?
• Will you have unlimited access to the venue’s facilities during the day?
• Is there are residential toastmaster?
• Are children allowed and is the venue suitable for them?
• Does the wedding venue provide any music facilities (e.g cd player)
• Is confetti allowed and what type of confetti? As some wedding venues do not allow the non-biodegradable shinny confetti.
• The most important tip of all, does it feel the right wedding venue for you? Is it “the one?”

Make sure you visit several wedding venues before making your decision, as each venue will have its own charachteristics and unique charm. Make sure you contact them and make an appointment to visit the venue before you turn up.

The Queen’s House in Greenwich, is a great wedding venue in London with beautiful surroundings and plenty of places to take some great photographs, whether formal or informal.

Here’s my favourite images from Hannah & Brian’s wedding. The ceremony took place at St Martin of Tours church in Chelsfield, Kent, this has a special place in my heart as it was where I got married and brings back lovely memories every time I attend a wedding here. The reception went on to be held at The Knowle Country House in Higham, Kent, a beautiful Gothic Mansion set in lovely gardens, great for pics.
